Erika Ott, Pilates Instructor
Erika
was first introduced to Pilates at SUNY Purchase where she received a
BFA in Dance, concentration in Ballet. Through the years, she trained
under the instruction of members of Joffery Ballet, NYC Ballet,
American Ballet Theater, Martha Graham and more. She came to study
Pilates with passion following an extended break in physical activity
after leaving the dance community. Erika was drawn to the structured
environment of the classes and orderly progression and sequence of the
sessions. She had been suffering from the common problem of chronic
back pain and found herself hooked after experiencing how
strengthening the core muscles alleviated much of the pressure in the
spine. It vastly reduced the duration and severity of any pain.
Beyond being an invigorating workout that focuses your mind and
challenges your body, Pilates to Erika is preventative care that
nurtures the body and soul. Erika is certified by Power Pilates®
in NYC to teach individual and group Pilates mat and system classes.
Erika and her husband Frank moved to Manchester Vermont in 2004 with
their son Chris. They take advantage of the local activities;
favorites include skiing and hiking.
